Born in Nghe An. As the first Vietnamese  learned in Paris National Fine arts College 
rom 1889 to 1894; A schoolboy of Professor J.L Georomeres of  classic style. Le van 
Mien is the first Vietnamese  painter to learn and use  Western oil  painting techniques 
under the methodology of French school in late 19th century.  He showed a stable , 
accurate and experienced  style of painting in colour and light. Le Van Mien' s works 
of art  focused on relatives' and friends' portraits.
